  Great company. Had a good time hanging out with them downtown. Very capable and knowledgeable river guides. I would definitely recommend Hot Springs Rafting Co if you want a wild trip down river.

• Review of "Briar Rose Farm" at Hot Springs

  If you have visited their website & expect to have your kids treated to a "true farm experience" as they claim, you may be in for a surprise. We arrived around 2pm and were briefly greeted by one of the owners. When you fill out the form on their website, they ask your kids names and how old they are, which give you the impression that they might cater to your kids to some degree. When informing them that our 3-year old son was really excited to feed the goats, he told us to wonder over to where they are to check them out ourselves(not to mention he cursed in front of our son during our 3-minute conversation). No one gave us a tour. No one showed us where the trails were. Not to mention that there is visible dirt on the couch in the living room and cobwebs between the bedspread & floor. We tried to find the trails ourselves, but ended up wondering on someone else's property. They advertise wi-fi, but you have to walk right up to the owner's place in order to access it. While 2 of the dogs on the property are extremely nice, they warn you to stay away from the 3rd, but the dangerous dog stayed on our porch all night! Please keep this in mind if you have children, because my son was afraid to go on the porch all evening. We left a day early, and asked for, at minimum, our money back for the night we didn't stay. They did reimburse us a portion of what we paid, but they would not give us the full amount back for the night we did not stay. Speaking with both owners after we left, they were not very apologetic and the excuse given was "you know this is a working farm." I completely respect that, but I would also expect that you fulfill the promises touted on the website. Since you are dishing out a significant amount of money to stay there, they should have an obligation to the guest to provide the advertised experience. The bread and soap that is promised didn't arrive until after we left the next day. My impression is that probably at one time they put more time into their cabins, but you can tell it doesn't get cleaned well, and it's obvious by the stains all over the coach that they don't put a dime of the $150 per night back into the place. Although you know going in that there is no A/C, it would be nice if there was at least a window unit to keep the place cool in the dead of summer. Even if our experience was an isolated one, I still wouldn't recommend staying here. There's no view from the cabin, the place is not comfortable, there's not much to do in this area, and you can find an equally-sized and more robust amenities and better views elsewhere for cheaper. This was our family's first trip to the region, and we much preferred our cheaper cabin in Bryson City that had an amazing view, was cheaper, and was near Smoky Mountain National Park. If you're coming to this area to visit the attractions of the Smokies, I would save yourself the 2-hour drive through winding roads to visit this cabin.

  Great experience! The staff was polite, knowledgeable, reassuring, and likable. Our guide, Mike, was wonderful and made the experience fun and safe. We would definitely go back and recommend this company to everyone!

• Review of "Kana'ti Lodge" at Hot Springs

  Kana'ti Lodge is AMAZING! We found this gem in the mountain on a whim. Wanting to travel to Hot Springs, NC and having a hard time finding accomodations, we found availability at Kana'ti Lodge. The Lodge is exactly as described, we could not have been happier and definitely plan to return for a future visit! Thank you Jeanette, Adam and Shelby for making my 40th birthday weekend so amazing! We WILL be back!
